Thriving as a Leader in Changing Times
Friday, April 9, 2021
(Registration closes on April 7, 2021)

Event Description
What does it mean to be a thriving leader at any level of organizational leadership in the youth development sector? What does that look like now, during a global pandemic? Belonging to a team, feeling valued and respected (as a whole person, not just “as an employee”), and being encouraged to innovate – this kind of culture enables us to adapt during challenging times, and it emerges when we lead by integrating racial equity and social and emotional learning to create equitable environments for youth and adults. Join us to explore what it means to be this kind of leader, and how each of us, from wherever we stand within organizations, can work towards building thriving organizations. We'll also be offering an opportunity for you to wind down from your learning experience with a chair-based yoga session.

For our 2021 Thriving Leaders Series, we will draw on five years of our popular Social & Emotional Learning Symposium and elevate the voices of those who are cultivating racially equitable programs and systems, with a focus on shifting adult practices so Black, Indigenous, and youth of color thrive. Thriving as a Leader in Changing Times is our first event in this series.

We are honored that Fahren Johnson, Director of Strategic Initiatives - Expanded Learning at Greentrike in Tacoma, will be joining us as our keynote speaker.
